Myths and Discoveries

When people go from Green Zone towards Red Zone bodies, there are two things that happen, but we only notice one of them. That’s the accumulation of fat, which is stored on the outside of our bodies. That’s why the SHAPE of our body changes. What’s NOT seen is that the ‘metabolic engine’ of bones and muscles becomes relatively smaller and much less active. Think of this like the engine of your car - the only part of the car that uses fuel. The larger your metabolic engine of your body is, the less fuel stored as fat. A weight scale CANNOT tell the difference between your healthy ‘engine’ and the storage tank of fat. The denser and more active your metabolic engine is, the more your body shape improves.

Activity – What kind, how much & How often

‘Cardio’ or Aerobic activities - Changing body shape requires building the ‘metabolic engine’ of bones and muscles in your body. Activities that get all of your body in motion at once work best. Examples are walking, biking, dancing, hiking, jogging and lots of others. You need to accumulate [not necessarily all at once] 60 minutes a day.

Weight Training can be a great adjunct to ‘cardio’. Keep it simple and totally effective by doing ‘The Magic 8’.
